Spirit TRC has made the difficult yet necessary decision to pivot to an ONLINE Auction. While we want to gather together, see everyone’s smiling faces and celebrate being “Back in the Saddle” at Spirit TRC, we believe that due to the current climate, it is in the best interest of our participants and their families, as well as our volunteers, donors, and staff to not hold an in-person event as we had hoped. This is truly heartbreaking for us; however, we firmly believe that it is the most responsible decision for our community.

Your support is more important than ever!  We have been “Back in the saddle” in 2021 with greater demand for expanded services than ever before.  In an effort to serve the needs of our community we expanded our programs and capacity and continue to grow and pivot to serve where it is needed the most. We are proud to continue to offer our traditional riding and horsemanship lessons for individuals with disabilities, plus we have expanded our programs to include a life-skills program with several local school districts, literacy and learning programs for struggling students of all ages and grade levels, as well as a senior supports program to bring joy and companionship to senior citizens struggling with loneliness and isolation.  

With your support Spirit TRC will keep serving Central Washington, and continue to heal with horses.

2021 Spirit TRC Update!

While this past year has been challenging it has allowed Spirit TRC to expand our services and fill the needs of the most vulnerable populations in our community by offering therapeutic riding, as well as, horsemanship, reading/learning, and senior citizens programs. 

In the spring we took the necessary safety precautions to allow us to open our doors to participants and volunteers.  We continue to pivot and adjust to make the best of whatever comes our way.  Our participants and their families & caregivers thank us each day for the skills, independence, victories, challenges, confidence, and empowerment that Spirit TRC provides.   

We are currently offering in person Horsemanship, Therapeutic Riding, Reading Round Pen, and Senior Support programs. This fall we are excited to also offer a Homework With The Horses program, as well as partnering with a couple local school districts to offer life-skills programs. 

Our programs are designed to support participants needs through partnership with the special Spirit TRC horses.  We currently have six amazing horses in our herd.  In the coming year we are looking to add two horses while reducing the workload of a couple of our more senior equine partners.  It takes a very special horse along with specialized training that we provide onsite to handle the unique pressures of therapeutic riding and horsemanship programs.  We are so blessed with our current herd members!
